Mindful eating, improved health

There are many factors that determine our health, energy and vitality. Our diet is the cornerstone of feeling good and avoiding chronic health conditions. All one needs to do is mindfully walk through any grocery store to see that 'something' is very wrong. The diet of those fortunate to live in the US is commonly referred to as "SAD", or the Standard American Diet. More than half of America's calories come from refined and processed foods (e.g. soft drinks, packaged snacks like potato chips, packaged desserts, etc.)

Diet is a complicated issue, and there is not a 'one size fits all' approach for humans. It is important to eliminate as much processed, boxed or canned foods as possible. It is critical to pay attention to the types of oil you choose to cook with, and those which occur in so many foods. Even snack foods billed as 'healthy' generally contain these oils.
